The International Highway Project

Just as economic development requires a free exchange of labor and materials, the development of culture requires unhindered communication and transportation.

Rev. Moon has conceived of a pan-continental highway system which would link many nations with a continuous, high-speed artery. On this highway, bounded on both sides by a neutral zone one kilometer wide, people of any country would be guaranteed unobstructed passage.

The highway offers the promise of boosting economic development in less prosperous countries, as well as promoting the freedom and well-being of persons who have been oppressed by totalitarian and authoritarian regimes.

A tunnel connecting Japan and Korea is now being constructed at Kyushu. Plans are also being discussed with the People's Republic of China for sections of highway within China.
